If you are a teacher to students from a foreign country learning english, the hardest part of teaching is the difference in grammar from their home country, to that of the US. In most cases, the grammar in their country is the exact opposite as that here in the US, so it may be hard at first to teach them this new way of thinking, especially if they are a bit older, and have been taught a different method for so long. So, if you are in need of new teaching techniques, you are going to want to consider free online programs and software, which can help you teach these students the rights and wrongs in US grammar.

There are hundreds of free programs, from typing games, to reading games, which can really make the teaching easier, and make the learning easier as well. Using these games, rather than a textbook, especially with a younger audience, is really going to teach them much more effectively than other methods might do so. So, when you are considering new ways of teaching the proper grammar, make sure to utilize these free online tools, and really use them for the best of the student.Related Article : End-of-Course Reflection

Most of us learned grammar during twelve years of school, but not all of those lessons have stuck with us! If you often find yourself questioning the proper use of commas and apostrophes, or you are wondering what the heck a split infinitive is, you might find these grammar references very helpful. There are tons of good grammar references and exercises available online, but I have done the work for you and found some of the best!

The Guide to Grammar and Writing, found at http://grammar. ccc.commnet.edu/grammar/, is an excellent reference that touches on tons of topics. Each topic includes a description of the proper usage, examples of correct and incorrect use, and some topics have exercises or quizzes.

The Purdue Online Writing Lab offers a grammar reference section at http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/section/1/5/. This is an invaluable resource for brushing up on grammar topics such as articles, prepositions, and apostrophes.

The Basic Elements of English: An Interactive Guide to Grammar offers an excellent interactive grammar reference at http://www.ucalgary.ca/UofC/eduweb/grammar/. This site is unique in that it provides instructions on proper grammar for every topic, and then allows you the opportunity to test yourself by typing answers or by clicking bubbles to fill in blanks.

A lot of blog readers don’t want an drawn out post unless the article is interesting and in depth.

With too little or too much content, the reader will simply skip over the post. The main thing with the blog is to attract the attention to the reader, and<! –more–> make your point! After the 300-400 mark, it’s more like an article you’d read from the newspaper. This isn’t beneficial for a number of reasons.

One, the search engine may truncate some of your important material. This means that people are less likely to find what they are looking for as they search for information catered to your niche. Two, if a person does stumble upon on your post they may get overwhelmed by the wordiness of the post. The turnover rate between people getting on your site and staying on there might greatly differ because of the post. Make sure to keep the blog post not over 300 words so that you have a post that keeps the reader’s attention.

Whether writing a blog entry or a business letter, it is important to write in a professional and appealing manner.
If you use sloppy grammar and sentence structure, what does that portray about you? If you are trying to make a point, your writing should give the impression that you are knowledgeable and sincere. Just like making sure that you look presentable at an interview, you should be presentable in your writing.

If you want to be taken seriously and your message considered in a serious manner, it is up to you to show yourself at your best. In the case of the written word, that means correct spelling, good grammar and proper sentence structure.
By using the proper words, written correctly and in grammatically accurate sentences, you tell the world that you are an adult with valid views. Your good grammar and sentence structure brings weight to bear on your message. You are making a believable and convincing statement, and one that should be taken to heart.

The best ideas in the world will be ignored if they are dressed in a shabby and ill-kept manner. Polish those words. Dress them up as if they were trying to impress someone.
